Mark McLaurin

Mark J. McLaurin is the Director of Political and Legislative Affairs for the Service Employees International Union Local 500, the largest and fastest growing labor union in the Country.   

Mark has been an advocate and activist for working class people for over 20 years.  From serving as a landlord tenant counselor at Baltimore Neighborhoods Inc. while in College to serving as the 7th Congressional Director for United States Senator Barbara A. Mikulski and Public Policy Director for the Public Justice Center- a common thread is a core commitment to fashioning innovative strategies to make life easier for Baltimore’s working class families.  He is eager to join the team of Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh and Director Jill Carter are putting together to ensure Baltimore workers are treated fairly and with dignity.

Mark also chairs Baltimore Police Commissioner Kevin Davis’ LGBT advisory Commission and serves on the Policy Committee of Gender Rights Maryland.
