Miriam Carrion
Miriam Carrión is a culturally competent degreed Transformative Mediator and Spanish Interpreter with over 20 years of experience in several industries, including Social work, Legal, and Healthcare. Ms. Carrión possesses a Bachelor’s in Science degree in Technical Writing and Communications. She is currently completing a Masters in Science Program in Conflict Management and Negotiation at the University of Baltimore. A native from Puerto Rico, she has complete fluency in both written as well as spoken of the English and Spanish language. Extensive knowledge in implementation of policies, public relations, human relations, and compliance; along with accounting functions including structural consultation. After relocating to Maryland in 2009 she starting her own Interpreting agency-Hispanic Advocates.
Hispanic Advocates was created to suffice the need of quality interpretation in the legal, medical, and community fields. Ms. Carrión has held professional memberships at the National Capitol Area Translators Association (NCATA) as well as with the National Association of Judiciary Interpreters (NAJIT). She specializes in court translation and interpretation. A few of her work and professional achievements includes her work with the Department of Justice (DOJ), Executive Office of Immigration Review (EOIR), DHS and USCIS, Workers Compensation Hearings, Baltimore City and County Circuit and District Court, as well as the Department of Corrections.
Ms. Carrión continues to grow the importance of diversity and inclusion throughout the City of Baltimore and surrounding areas. She has been providing several City agencies with Interpretation and Translation for several languages all while assuring the needs of the ELL families are being met. Her main passion has been assisting woman and children who are victims of crimes by connecting them with resources to navigate their trauma. She holds a Federal Public Trust Security Clearance and is a Notary Public for the State of Maryland.
She has also assisted many private medical practices with government and federal compliances and guidelines as well as the implementation of conflict management processes for dispute systems within organizations. She has been successful at the organization of offices, leading to maximum efficiency while maintaining a cooperative work environment. Currently she has utilized all her skill sets and exposure to form Oriented Healthcare LLC. By meeting people where they are, combining interpreting, mediation, therapeutic and medical service; as the CEO- beside a capable team of professionals she provides a safe space for Integrated Behavioral Health, Mediation and Primary Care Services to a large culturally diverse population in the state of Maryland.
